Addiction Medicine Review Course Information

Join us in San Francisco for the 2006 Addiction Medicine Review Course presented by the California Society of Addiction Medicine (CSAM) and the American Society of Addiction Medicine (ASAM). This has been an exciting year for CSAM and we have tried to reflect it in this year’s conference by combining our usual high quality conference with some new elements.
Again this year, the CSAM conference brings together top experts in the fi eld of Addiction Medicine. For example, we are delighted to have Timothy Condon, MD, Deputy Director of NIDA, delivering the keynote address on Thursday morning. CSAM will continue its tradition of using case illustrations and facilitated small group discussions to give the learner the opportunity to apply key concepts to real world clinical situations.
Some new topics appear this year in a preconference workshop titled "Controversies in Addiction Medicine" and in lectures giving emphasis to the role of physicians in the treatment of nicotine addiction.
This year we will also continue with and expand our very successful preparation track for persons taking the ASAM certifi cation and recertification examination. The seven additional hours will add a test preparation focus and increase effi ciency when preparing for the examination. While our days will be fi lled with learning, we have allowed time to unwind and have some fun in the evenings. After a full day of science, we have comedian Argus Hamilton at our dessert reception on Thursday evening. On Friday evening, join us for bowling with family and friends at nearby Yerba Buena Center.
