Charge: The purpose of the Access to Treatment Committee is to improve the access and availability of effective and evidence-based treatments for patients receiving private sector services. The Access Committee coordinates CSAM’s educational, policy and leadership activities related to private sector addiction treatment, with a long term goal that is focused—but not limited to—achieving substance abuse parity in California. The Access to Treatment Committee works with CSAM’s Executive and Standing Committees as appropriate.

Charge: To prepare a long range plan for the CME activities of the Society including a statement of the objectives of the proposed activities, and to forward the plan to the Executive Council at least once every other year. To initiate, plan and carry out projects of continuing medical education. To insure that all CME activities offered by CSAM meet the standards of the Society and the accreditation standards of the California Medical Association. To designate which programs sponsored by CSAM will offer Category 1 credit toward the CMA Certificate in Continuing Medical Education. To act for the Society (with no action of the Executive Council required) in all matters related to programs of continuing medical education, including the designation of Category 1 credit, EXCEPT when the program is offered jointly or in cooperation with another organization, when approval by the Executive Council is also required.
