The California Society of Addiction Medicine (CSAM) is accredited by the Institute for Medical Quality/California Medical Association to provide continuing medical education for physicians. CSAM takes responsibility for the content, quality and scientific integrity of this CME activity.
CSAM designates this educational activity for a maximum of 1 AMA PRA Category 1 Credit™. Physicians should only claim credit commensurate with the extent of their participation in the activity. This credit may also be applied to the CMA Certification in Continuing Medical Education.

1)Inform doctors of the new law and details of it's provisions as they apply to clinical practice.
2)Spread the knowledge of the ways that naloxone can now be legally prescribed, to whom and details of the formulations/delivery systems which are now available for use by lay-persons.
3) Provide doctors with practical information to build competence in determining the target populations for this medication and to help them educate patients on how to use it safely.
