How to Earn CME Through CSAM

1. Annual Conference

Format: In-Person, Multi-Day Event

CSAM’s Annual Conference is our flagship educational event, bringing together leading experts, clinicians, researchers, and public health professionals. Participants gain exposure to the latest evidence, innovations, and clinical best practices in addiction medicine.
Attendees earn CME by:

  • Participating in plenary sessions, breakout workshops, and keynote lectures

  • Completing session evaluations

  • Claiming credits through the conference’s CME portal after attendance


2. Workshops

Format: Live Virtual or In-Person, Half-Day to Multi-Day

CSAM workshops provide in-depth, skills-based training on specific areas of addiction medicine, such as motivational interviewing, integrative behavioral health, or clinical leadership.
Participants earn CME by:

  • Completing the workshop in real time

  • Fulfilling participation requirements (polls, breakout work, or interactive components)

  • Completing the post-course evaluation to receive a CME certificate


3. Webinars

Format: Live Virtual Sessions 

CSAM’s webinars offer timely, focused education on emerging issues, clinical updates, and best practices in treatment, policy, and patient care.
Participants earn CME by:

  • Attending the live webinar

  • Completing the short evaluation afterward

  • Downloading the CME certificate once completed

Note: On-demand webinar recordings may or may not offer CME depending on accreditation requirements.


4. Online CME Courses   

Format: Self-Paced, On-Demand e-Learning

CSAM’s online courses allow learners to study at their own pace with high-quality recorded lectures, integrated quizzes, and downloadable materials. Courses remain open for several months, making them ideal for busy clinicians.
Learners earn CME by:

  • Completing all course modules

  • Passing required knowledge checks (if applicable)

  • Submitting the post-course evaluation

  • Accessing the CME certificate via the course platform


CME Certificates & Tracking

CSAM provides certificates for all accredited sessions once evaluations are complete. Learners are encouraged to maintain their certificates for state licensing, MOC, and credentialing requirements.
